About Morris Lane Distillery
It was June 2019 and we were sitting around a fire at the Rothesay Estate vineyard sipping on a very fine Australian whisky (after having a couple too many glasses of wine) when I thought to myself, I’d like to make world-class Australian spirits, predominantly whisky and really focus on where the grains, fruits and botanicals come from and match them with great oak. I shared my idea with the group, we did a cheers and Morris Lane Distillery was born.
So quietly since then, single malt and grain whisky have been made and barreled, a variety of beautiful French and American oak, ex-bourbon barrels and ex-red wine barrels have been used. The malted barley and wheat all come from Victoria.
This year a batch of American Whiskey (bourbon) was made, whisky production continues and more recently attention has turned to gin and vodka. All continuing to use Australian grown grain, botanical's and fruits, something I am very, very passionate about.
All of our spirits are batched produced, each bottle has a batch and bottle number.
